New call for volunteers - Cambodia 2009/2010

Royal Angkor Foundation (RAF) applied for a grant to host four volunteers in 2009/2010 as a continuation to our educational modules in Cambodia (see below - “Jobs for the Orphans of Angkor”).
In the current project our intention is to provide trainings in 5 modules, (1) IT [database management, digital image manipulation, navigation software], (2) Green Life [environmentally friendly living, sustainable tourism eco-friendly community life] (3) Intercultural relations [English, Organizational Development, Youth & Social Work] (4) Textile. Target groups are (i) senior orphans and students (age 14-17), (ii) their teachers and, (iii) young local unemployed.


I’d like to emphasize that RAF has not won the grant yet, however, are already recruiting volunteers for the program to make sure the right people are there if the project gets a green light.

Details are as follows:
Project name: European youth for the children of AngkorVacancies: four volunteer positions
Location: Siem Reap, Cambodia.
Duration: 1 x 6 months in 2009 / 1 x 9 months in 2009 / 1 x 6 months in 2010 / 1 x 9 months in 2010
Provided: travel to site, local transportation, accommodation and small contribution to living expenses.
Required: 1. Excellent English is a must. 2. skills and competencies in one of the above mentioned training topics are strong advantages but not a must. 3. Work/travel experience in a “developing” country, and volunteer experience are advantages.
